Hourig Avakian has been working alongside GP Law Group since 2023, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique perspective from her background in insurance defense to our plaintiff-focused practice. In 2019, she launched Avak Law, APC, specializing in personal injury and property damage claims. Prior to founding her firm, Hourig spent six years as an in-house defense trial attorney with a large insurance company, where she managed personal injury cases from inception through trial, arbitration, mediation, and settlement. This experience gives her an insider’s perspective on how insurance companies operate—insight that proves invaluable in helping GP Law Group’s clients maximize their claims and anticipate defense strategies.
Hourig brings an invaluable blend of litigation experience and client-centered service to her role, emphasizing clear communication and strategic advocacy. She personally handles all client communication with insurance companies, enabling her clients to focus on their recovery. Hourig’s dedication to her clients’ well-being drives her aggressive pursuit of fair compensation for injuries and damages. With a career devoted entirely to helping injured clients and their families, she has made it her mission to support them during some of their most difficult times.
Hourig earned her B.A. in English from UCLA in 2006 and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 2010. She honed her trial advocacy skills through clerkships with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles Superior Court. Fluent in English and Armenian, she is an active member of both the Armenian Bar Association (ABA) and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).
